2010 World Cup: Bad News is News

There are too many articles in international media that are not complete, or simply give wrong information, and certainly a wrong indication on the developments regarding 2010. The reason is that if there is a strike at a stadium, this is news because it is bad news, and thus sells. CapeTownMagazine.com is one of the few sources that combines and gathers all the articles on the good news that we read in the papers here, but is not picked up by overseas media.

South Africa or Africa can not organize a World Cup

Perceptions are rife. The perception of Africa is still third world. People do not realize that SA is a second world economy such as Poland, Portugal and Greece for example. Two of the countries mentioned, organised excellent soccer events in the past. Here if a stadium is built, people say “it is never going to be finished, they started so late”, although SA is in many respects ahead of planning compared where to Germany was time wise. I can be more specific on this as well if you want.

The World’s First Google Earth Map of Soccer & World Cup Locations

The google earth map that we created is truly a world first. We talk about the World Cup being ‘an African World Cup’. We like to say our Google Earth Map is an example of how we organize things in South Africa. It is the first Google Earth Map ever made for a world cup about soccer and features all the host cities, stadiums, (known) fan park locations and many more locations, with monthly updates until the world cup starts(!).

Always the latest and exact information on World Cup locations

Not only is the map a world’s first, but it offers the opportunity of not only showing 2010 related locations, but also for example soccer development projects and soccer tours. Another unique feature is that you simply download it for your Google Earth, and it will update with new locations as they become known (!). Obviously many journalists world wide are (already) profiting from this unique map.

Prime source for Journalists, Media and Governments

Because of this map, people will know exactly where they need to go, where entrances are, etc etc. This Google Earth Map offers and accelerates opportunities to make it an even more special world cup and exposure for many projects and excellent experiences. It gives journalists, media and governments world wide the latest information on the world cup locations which they can share with their to create a safe, great and well organised world cup in South Africa.
